Anti-Discrimination Policy for ACM India Events
ACM India will follow ACM’s code of ethics and policy against harassment.
Commitment to Inclusion:
ACM India is committed to fostering an inclusive environment that values diversity and promotes respectful interactions. Discriminatory behavior, including harassment, bias, intimidation, and any form of unwelcome conduct, is strictly prohibited. Please see ACM India’s DEI mission, the ACM code of ethics, and policy against harassment.
Expected Behaviour:
All participants at ACM India events are expected to:
● Treat each other with respect and consideration, regardless of differences.
● Refrain from discriminatory, offensive, or disrespectful language, gestures or actions.
● Engage in discussions and interactions that are free from bias and discrimination.
● Create an inclusive environment that welcomes diverse perspectives.
Reporting Incidents:
If you experience or witness discriminatory behavior or harassment at an ACM India event, you may wish to inform a person in authority. Those in authority to act in these cases include the event organizers or volunteers who have been designated to handle such complaints at this activity. These individuals can provide information about the process for handling complaints or handling immediate onsite needs. Please review ACM’s guidelines about reporting unacceptable behavior.
Any investigation or further action requires that a written communication be made to ACM. You may report incidents as per the following categories:
● Ethics: Please file a complaint using this online form.
● Harassment: Please file a complaint using this online form.
All reports will be followed up promptly, with further investigation conducted where needed, to confirm facts or resolve disputed facts. In conducting its investigations, ACM will strive to keep the identity of the individual making the report as confidential as possible beyond the investigation.
A committee will determine whether the complaint involves any violation of ACM’s Policy Against Harassment at ACM Activities. On behalf of ACM, an executive will inform both the complainant and the subject regarding the decision.
The Committee may take actions including, but not limited to, suspension or termination of membership in ACM, exclusion from ACM leadership positions, exclusion from participating in future ACM events, and/or exclusion from deriving other benefits from ACM activities. Such actions may be applied regardless of whether or not the offender is a member of ACM.
